John Baskerville Day

John Baskerville Day
Wednesday 4th December

John Baskerville is an indelible mark within Birmingham’s history. The designer of the font Baskerville, he lived and worked in the city yet his achievements remain discreet.

On Wednesday 4th December to memorialise John Baskerville’s work I visited two locations, Centenary Square and Warstone Lane Cemetery, where he is buried in an unmarked grave. At each location I made a series of drawings on carbon paper, leaving copies of the drawings at each location as a gift to John Baskerville’s memory.
